Radlein Obituary | November 17 1940. Killed in action in France, May, 1940, Julian Edward Saumarez, Sec. Lt., Lancashire Fusiliers, During his five years at Radley he entered very fully into all the out-of-school activities of this place. He was a vigorous member of his Social (Smale's, H) and besides being a pioneer signaller, played both cricket and football with enthusiasm, obtaining his First XI Cap his last year. He then went up to B.N.C. but did not complete his course there as he left early to go into the City. He showed his affection for Radley by frequent visits to the School and often came down with visiting teams to renew his happy memories. |
