Radlein Obituary October 18 1942. In July, 1942, missing over the North Sea, presumed
killed, Gerald Carrick Pizey, Pilot Off., RA.F.V.R (Smale's, 1936--1940). He had a distinguished career with us as a scholar in Modern Languages, an oarsman and a prolific writer of verse. He was an original, almost flamboyant figure, impulsive and affectionate, irrepressibly high-spirited and full of promise. There is to the many friends and associates who mourn his loss something peculiarly tragic in the fate which has taken him from us before his remarkable gifts came to fruition.
