Radlein Obituary November 23 1941. In July, 1941, on active service in the Middle East, Richard John Watson McAllen, Capt., R.A.C. He was at Radley (Wilson-Green's and Boyd's, G) from 1928 to 1932 and on leaving went to Trinity College, Cambridge. Though at first destined for the medical profession, his enthusiasm for the Army asserted itself and he was commissioned in 1935. During the War he became Adjutant of his regiment. He was married in May of this year, and had been only a fortnight in the Middle East when he met his death. He is remembered at Radley as one who possessed all the qualities necessary to make a fine officer.
