Radlein Obituary | November 21 1943. Reported missing, presumed killed, in July 1943, while in command of H.M. Submarine P . 615, Charles Walderne St. Clair Lambert, D.S.C., Lieutenant, RN. (Boyd's (G) 1933). After a short, but very promising, period at Radley, he left and finished his education at St. Paul's. He passed into the Navy by special entry in 1937, and in 1940 joined H.M. Submarine 'Unbeaten', in which he served with distinction in the Mediterranean, being awarded the D.S.C. and Bar for "courage, skill and coolness in successful submarine patrols". In November 1942 he was appointed to H.M. Submarine P. 615, in command. He married in April, 1941, Joan Hilary Duncan, only daughter of the late Major Duncan, M.C., R.A. |
