Radlein Obituary | February 25 1945. Killed in action in Normandy, on 28th June, 1944, Richard George Jackson, Lt., RA.C. (E) (Hope's, E, 1937-40). At Radley, Dick Jackson was a quiet, serious-minded boy. and not many people knew him well. But those who did will always remember him for his absolute sincerity and his unswerving devotion to what he knew was right. After leaving Radley he worked for a short period in a bank and then entered the Army. He was commissioned from Sandhurst in the R A.C. He crossed to France on D Day and was killed in action in Normandy three weeks later. Many will mourn the loss of this simple lovable soul. |
