| Radlein Obituary |
March 8 1942. In November 1941, while on active service, Roger Arnold Henderson, Flight Lieut., R.A.F.V.R. (Barmby's -Hellard's, C, 1923-27). Roger Henderson joined a social which was strong in various branches of athletics at that time and soon became a useful help in that direction. He kept wicket in the Cricket XI of 1927, and represented the school at Rackets in the same year. He was always a plucky boxer, and in his last year boxed against Bradfield. Soon after leaving Radley he spent some time in Australia, where he married, and not long before the war he and his wife came to live near Wantage. In 1940 he obtained a commission in the R.A.F.V.R., and at the time of his death was a Flight Lieut. He was friendly, sociable, and adventurous by nature, and will be missed by many friends. |
