Radlein Obituary November 19 1944. Died of wounds on June 12th, 1944, Roger Lisle Harrison, Captain, Welsh Guards (Smale's, H, 1934-38). From the time of his arrival at Radley Roger Harrison was well liked by all with whom he came in contact. He was a cheerful and willing worker both in and out of school and in his last year here became a House Prefect and a member of the 1st XI. On leaving Radley he went to Manchester University where he played in the Cricket and Hockey XIs. For a time he was on deferred service, having been articled to a firm of solicitors, but later joined up and was commissioned in the Welsh Guards in January 1941. He saw service in North Africa and was wounded, but, having recovered, he asked to be sent to the front again rather than remain in a less active job behind the lines. Shortly afterwards, in Italy, he received wounds which proved fatal. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
