Radlein Obituary | November 21 1943. Died in India, from bloodpoisoning, on 3rd September, 1943, David Hammond-Chambers- Borgnis (Nugee's, B, 1928-32), Major, KIng's Own Scottish Borderers. David Borgnis was one of those quiet, unassuming, friendly creatures to whom every school owes so much, and yet he contributed his full share to the common life of his generation. He was for instance, a House Prefect, in the Cricket XI, and (as one might expect) President of the Musical Society. From Sandhurst it was only natural that he should go into the K.O.S.B. of which his great uncle (Brig.-Gen. D. A. Macfarlane, O.R.) was Colonel. To his wife, parents and brother we extend our sympathy, which is all the more real because we know the family so well. |
