War Memorial Fund (1943) Ctte minutes 29.5.1946: 'Applications on behalf of thirteen boys were considered. Twelve of the candidates were sons of ORs who had been killed in the war and one a nephew - [due] 1956 Francis, DNC, 11th birthday 8 August 1953.'

Though he was at Radley for such a short time, he will be remembered with great affection by those who knew him, as a cheerful boy with an unassuming charm of manner who threw himself whole-heartedly into the life of his Social. He took up flying before the war and was gazetted Acting
Pilot-Officer in June, 1938.
