Radlein Obituary | November 17 1946. On June 20, 1946. at Kiel, Graham Watson Elliott, Midshipman, R.N.V.R (Hope's, E, 1940-44). The news of Graham Elliott's death in a drowning accident came as a great shock to those who so short a time ago had known him at Radley for he had left but eighteen months before. He had a very successful career in the School. He was a Junior Prefect, was in the Upper Sixth, rowed in the Second Eight and also in his Social Boat that in 1944 won Challenge Fours and was Head of the River. With an air of old-world courtesy, he was at the same time a serious-minded boy who thought out carefully his reactions to any new idea. Thus he was a person from whom his contemporaries never sought advice in vain. Upright in all his dealings he was just of that type which the country can ill afford to lose. |
