Radlein Obituary | November 25 1945. Killed in action in Burma in May, 1945, Christopher Oswald Boughton, Major, E. York R. (Hedgecock's, F, 1931-34). Christopher Boughton, the younger of two brothers, who were both in Hedgecock's Social, came to Radley in 1931 from the Oxford Cathedral Choir School. He had a splendid voice and was prominent in the Social Quartettes. He was a pleasant boy, sincere, and useful in his House, but very quiet and reserved. On leaving he went to the Army College, Farnham, in preparation for Sandhurst. From Sandhurst he was gazetted to the East Yorkshire Regiment in 1938 and obtained his captaincy in 1941. We deeply mourn the loss of a pupil who always strove to do his best and fulfil his duty. |
