Radlein Obituary | June 14 1942. On April 14th, Peter Ferns Barge (Stevenson's-Watkins's, D, 1936-1939). He came to Radley from the Dragon School, Oxford, and left here rather younger than most to learn heavy road transport work. Soon after the outbreak of war he managed to join the Royal Engineers. although he was still under the age then permissible. Here he developed his considerable mechanical ability and was employed with heavy transport vehicles, which had been his passion as a child and his profession when he left school. |
