Radlein Obituary November 21 1943. On 10th August, 1943. killed in operations, Valentine Baker, Pilot Officer, RA.F.V.R (Smale's I936-39). He was a quiet, unassuming boy and left Radley early to study privately at home for the Navy examination. In 194I he joined the R.A.F., and a year later commenced operations as a Sergt. Pilot. He was commissioned m July, I943, and, at the time of his death, had participated in many raids.
