Interestingly, no aircraft seems to have been lost on the 17th per http://www.rafjever.org/98squadhistory.htm - so how did he go MIA?

Enlisted in CEF 22/9/1914, giving false date of birth? http://data4.collectionscanada.ca/netacgi/nph-brs?s1=bell&s2=ralph&s3=&Sect4=AND&l=20&Sect1=IMAGE&Sect2=THESOFF&Sect5=CEF6PEN&Sect6=HITOFF&d=CEF6&p=1&u=http://www.collectionscanada.ca/archivianet/02010602_e.html&r=8&f=G

BMD index has a Ralph Bell born Richmond 1891, but not one born 1886 - it seems he lied!
